“Just Because He Breathes” – by Rob & Linda Robertson
This Video went viral when Rob & Linda Robertson told their incredible story on June 20, 2013, at the last ever annual Exodus conference. It is their story…of how God taught them, conservative, evangelical parents, how to TRULY love their gay son.
They pray that God can somehow use their story to help other parents learn to truly love their children. Just because they breathe.
A note from Lisa: I could hardly breathe when I watched this. Please hold off vitriolic judgment about this topic and just hold the tension and grief of these parents and the struggle that they faced. We may not have all the answers, the jury may be out for some of us on this issue, but I believe with all my heart that we need to walk with grace, mercy and love. I hope that you will be as moved as I was. I pray for Rob and Linda and other parents who face this predicament. May God give them comfort, wisdom and grace along with a loving community who will embrace them and walk alongside them.
*Note: I did not show this video to prove any particular point.
This blog is here to host different stories, different views and paradigms. I would be very interested to hear from you if you have a different narrative.
All of us walk a different path and have a different story to tell.
I admire them for their transparency and honesty. The grief they are facing is horrendous. It is such a very sad story and unfortunately not an unusual one.
